How quickly has the past year flown by? Your tiny newborn has blossomed into an amazing 1-year-old, and it’s all thanks to you. The first birthday is such a special milestone, a moment that deserves to be celebrated in style.
A cake smash photoshoot in my studio in Ipswich is the perfect way to mark this memorable occasion. It’s a fun and playful session designed to capture your little one’s personality and excitement as they dive into their first birthday cake. Whether they’re delicately tasting it or making a mess, the reactions are always priceless.
The session is divided into three parts: first, a portrait session where we will get some cute photos before your child is let loose with the cake! The second part is the cake smash, where your little one gets to explore a beautifully decorated cake, and then, it's time for bath time to wash off all that sugary fun. After all the mess, the bath is a delightful way to wind down and capture those adorable moments of your little one splashing around and giggling.
From the initial portrait session to the soothing bath time, I’ll be there to capture every moment, giving you timeless photos to cherish as your child grows. It’s a celebration of their first year, and it’s a memory you’ll treasure for a lifetime.

The Process
Every step of the journey is designed to be simple and stress free, making the entire experience just as special as the photographs themselves.
Step One
Once your session is secured, we’ll dive into the details to create the perfect vision for your little one’s cake smash. We’ll discuss everything from theme and colour choices to outfit options, ensuring the session reflects your style and personality.
These details will help me arrange for a bespoke cake and set up the perfect backdrop. If your child has any food allergies, we can discuss alternatives to ensure everyone stays safe and happy!
It’s completely normal for your little one to feel a bit shy or hesitant when they first arrive, especially if they’ve never met me before.
As a mother myself and an experienced photographer, I know how to work at your child’s pace to capture genuine, adorable moments. The session will include portrait shots, the exciting cake smash, and a fun, relaxing bath time to clean up. We aim to create a gallery filled with precious memories of your baby’s first birthday to cherish for years.

Once the session is over and you’re back home with your little one, the next step is the editing process. Within 2-3 weeks, I’ll edit your gallery to perfection.
You’ll receive an invitation to view your images and select your favourites. I know it’s a tough choice, so many parents opt for the ‘Pure’ package, allowing them to select a collection of their most treasured moments. Your online gallery will be available for two weeks to make your final selections.
